is there something wrong with my Jack Russell?

ok, i have this jack russell. she is a really cute dog, but she likes to chew stuff. she chewed up the bottom of almost every wall of my house, the side of my tv, my coffee table, the carpet in my house, a bunch of holes in my kichen floor, the legs of all my chairs in the kichen, the legs to my table, the corner of my counter, my x-box, my x-box controllers, the sides of my computer, most of my dvds, cds, video games, my deck outside, the corners of my dressers, the edges of most of my doors, many of my blankets, my books, alot of my clothes, the edges of some picture frames, the sides of my couches, the edges of my desk, she got a hold of my wallet and chewed it up and tore up the money in it, my cabinet doors in my kichen and bathrooms, she tore all my toilet paper up, she chewed off the ends of my cleaning products so i cant spray them now…. what is wrong with her? and how can i get her to stop chewing everything? my mother in law who knows alot of stuff said to spread the juice from meat and bacon greese on stuff, but that only seemed to make it worse. she chewed that stuff way worse when i did that. any suggestions?
What’s wrong is your dog needs more exercise and training. Chewing is a symptom of a dog with too much energy and not enough outlets for it. So you need to exercise her more often.
Second, left up to her own devices how does she know that chewing is bad unless you train her that it is.
Third, why would you spread something that tastes and smells good on things you don’t want chewed? That doesn’t make any sense. There are products out there like Sour Apple Spray that you can use that actually taste bad to help prevent chewing.
Mostly though it comes down to training. Your dog needs obedience and training.

I’ve got to assume that this is a joke. Most people would have gotten help with training OR at the least, kept the dog in a kennel when they were not supervising.
Take the dog for more walks…. for longer periods… Not just for exercise, but to stimulate the mind.
Talk to a professional trainer to help you with training.

I’m assuming your Jack Russell is a puppy? Teething stage? Spreading something yummy like bacon grease will tell her you want her to chew those things.
Try a peanut butter stuffed Kong. And keep your stuff out of reach of jack russell teeth. And give her lots of exercise!! An hour or two a day of running will make a tired puppy and tired puppies don’t chew as much.

your mother in law is not very smart because that adds an appetizing scent to it and will make it worse. however, if you play with her rough like tug of war than it may help you should definetly buy toys and put bacon grease on them it will make them appetizing to her or but a toy called a Kong and fill the inside with peanut butter and freeze it than remove it from the freezer and give it to her

If this is not a joke,!. you need to crate the dog when you are not supervising activities,find a good dog trainer, exercise the dog to relieve
anxiety.Did your mother in law give you the dog?

OK, I’m not sure your mother-in-law likes you. Because juice from meat or bacon would drive any dog through the roof and only entice them to chew more thinking there was a hidden morsel of food there. What was she thinking!
You need to clean all these areas with bleach and then spray bitter apple spray on these areas.
Jack Russell’s are highly energetic dogs and require huge amounts of exercise and attention to keep them happy. Your problem is the typical Jack owner’s story. Sounds to me like this dog is acting out because she is not getting her energy released. A tired dog is a happy dog. I suggest you get this dog out to run hard three times a day for 45 minutes each time and spend more time forming a strong bond with this dog. Far to often people get dogs based on what they regard as cute, never researching the breeds characteristics and seeing what it will require to maintain a healthy relationship with that particular breed.
Also, Jack’s need to know who is the pack leader. This is the type of dog you can never be soft with. Which you are for her to be doing this much damage. You need to start from scratch and establish yourself as the pack leader. You need to control her in a firm, fair and consistent way.
