How to decorate bathrooms?
We have two bathrooms, both in desperate need of upgrade. Bathroom #1 has a corner cabinet that sits on the floor, the cabinet needs something on top of it but I have no idea what. It also has a shelf inside that needs something….I really don’t like flowers.
The other bathroom has bronze and white accessories, and we just need some sort of small wall art to hang.
Please please help!! I am clueless!!!
As a general FYI, when you’re looking to get suggestions for accessories, it is a good idea to include the color scheme and size of what you want. I’m guessing your bathrooms are mostly white, but I could be wrong. The top of the cabinent could be waist high or it could be close to the ceiling.
For bathroom #1- It depends on how high the cabinent is and the colors of the rest of the room. Keep in mind anything you put up there would need to be dusted regularly. I usually keep spaces like that empty- I don’t need dust catchers and it often draws the eye away from the rest of the room.
For the other bathroom, I think it is a good idea to match the frame to the accessories and try to get something in a similar bronze. If the walls are painted anything but white, you could also go with white frames (easier to match). Try to find a frame with a mat, it makes art pop. A few suggestions for the wall art:

What colors should I paint me bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom?
I just bought a house, and the whole house is beige so I want to paint.
My bathroom has no cabinets and white toilet and sink and shower, so any color could go.
my kitchen cabinets are yellowish oak, and counter top is dark grey speckled, floor is kind of a creamy tile. so what should I paint the walls? BESIDES beige.
bedroom has hardwood oak floors and trim. and my furniture is darker wood.
please help me pick some colors, im not very good at design
I think pastel green would look nice for your bathroom. For your kitchen, I would suggest a light blue to complement your dark counter top. You can also go with warmer colors like gold, yellow, and orange can also add to your cabinets.
Good luck on your kitchen design!
How do I put a bathroom cabinet on the wall?
I have bought a bathroom cabinet, (for the bathroom surprisingly!), but I can’t get it to stay on the wall.
None of the walls in my house will hold anything. I have had to use a glue gun to keep shelves on the wall, but I cannot drill into any of the walls without things dropping off and leaving a big gaping hole.
I have tried to glue the cabinet to the wall, but, its too heavy, and would probably drop off anyway.
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks guys ![]()
It’s an old house from the 1930s with "Accrington Brick" walls?
Depends on your walls but there is no way to fit a cabinet without screwing into the wall. If you use a decent hammer drill with a suitable drill bit then it will work.
Look at the attached link.
If it’s a new house and you have plasterboard then there will be a cavity between the plasterboard and the wall. For that you need a special cavity plug which expands behind the plasterboard when the screw goes in. See second link. These are excellent and you can buy them from most DIY places like Homebase and B&Q. – They work well.
Good Luck
