Distance between the top of the vanity to the bottom of the mirror/medicine cabinet?
In a bathroom…is there a standard distance between the top of the vanity to the bottom of the mirror/medicine cabinet???
Hi Jenni, this is a very good question and I’m going to try to give you a common sense type answer, Two things, what is the height of your mirror and is there a light on the wall above your mirror? Or just a light on the ceiling? If you have ceiling only lumes, and your mirror is 18 to 26 inches in height, the mirror might be as much as 8 to 10 inches above vanity. Just keep in mind a person who 4 foot 2 would like to see a much as a tall person. If mirror is 42 inches or more, about 1 to 2 inches off vanity is very smart looking. Never mount mirror right on vanity due to cleaning and periodic repair of caulk that should be around your vanity. If you have a light on the wall try to balance a smaller size mirror (18 to 26) between the vanity and light, usually about 6 to 8 inches above vanity. And if by chance you got a tall one (36 to 42 and more) about 1 inch off vanity looks great and really opens up the room. Good luck, sorry about long reply. I’m just anal that way. jim…
What color should I decorate my bathroom?
I live in rented house and I loved the location and the enourmous rooms it has, but I really never liked the colors of the bathroom our the kitchen cabinets. My bathroom has 12 by 12 ceramic tiles that are mint green, with white black, and tan rock-like specs. I am trying to to figure out what colours can I use for the shower curtain, rugs etc. to make it look better. Also my bathroom walls are white. Please help!!!
I’d go with a good quality white shower curtain and chocolate brown for the rugs etc. Stick with these colours which are timeless, and don’t introduce any others into the room.
Need help w/ a small bathroom..tub is pink (yuck) need to paint cabinets, walls and redo floor..cheap?
Thanks for the ideas, however I rent and don’t want to redo the tub as much as I dislike it. Thought about black/white flooring and the counter top is sorta gray so looking for other ideas…?
You can have the tub reglazed. Or get a neat shower curtain and cover hide it. Roxanne
